Customer base of Armenian banks increased by 6% per annum by April,  and accounts  - by 4.3%

ArmInfo.The customer base of banks in Armenia totaled 3,162,200 individuals and 106,395 legal entities by April 2021.

According to the Central Bank's data published in the report of the  RA Statistical Committee, a total of 3,268,595 clients had 6,349,431  accounts in Armenian banks, of which 6,115,410 were accounts of  individuals and 234,021 were accounts of legal entities.

According to the source, on a y-o-y terms the customer base of  Armenian banks increased by 6% or by 180,314 persons (against 10.1%  growth or by 282,702 persons a year earlier). Customer accounts for  the reporting period increased by 4.3% per annum (against 13.7%  growth a year earlier). The number of individual customers increased  on y-o-y terms by 173,447 people, and the number of their accounts -  by 250,219.

In Q1 2021 alone, the customer base of banks increased by 0.6% or by  17314 clients (of which 15,881 were individuals), which was  accompanied by an increase in accounts by 1.3% or by 83,487 accounts  (of which 80,474 were individuals' accounts) .As a comparison, we  note that a year earlier in the same period, the growth in the number  of customers and accounts was almost the same - by 2.1% (or by 62,848  customers) and by 2.6% (or by 153,258 accounts).
