ArmInfo. In Gegharkunik region, a program has been launched to implement investment projects with a total value of 1.16 billion drams until 2025. A similar agreement was reached within the framework of the signing of a Memorandum of Intent between the Ministry of Economy of Armenia and the Foundation of Regional Development and Competitiveness.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy, within the framework of cooperation, a comprehensive program for the development of the communities of Gegamavan, Ddmashen, Zovaber, Tsakhkunk, as well as the territories covering the settlement of Gagarin of the Sevan community will be developed and implemented. The projects will be based on a public-private partnership scheme.
The main directions of the program: competitive educational ecosystem, high-quality living environment, sustainable economic development.
It is expected that the implementation of the program will provide an opportunity to form communities with sustainable development and innovative lifestyles that will contribute to the well- being of residents and enhance their creativity.
As part of the memorandum, the Ministry of Economy undertakes to initiate or resolve issues related to the construction or modernization of the necessary infrastructures. The Foundation, through its own funds, will ensure the implementation of the work included in the research phase. It is also reported that a working group will be created to organize and agree on the planned work.
To recall, on May 5, acting Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan visited the Tsaghkunk community of Gegharkunik region to get acquainted with the details of the "Gagarin Project" implemented by the Foundation of Regional Development and Competitiveness
It was noted that within the framework of this project, the reconstruction of the center of the Tsaghkunk community of Gegharkunik region is expected. Roads will be restored, a park, a tourist information center and other service infrastructure will be built.
