ArmInfo. ARMENAL summed up the results of the factory stage of the "Improvement of the Year" competition in five nominations. Several dozen engineers and workers who submitted about 30 proposals attended it.
According to the press service of the plant, in the new nomination "TRIZ" (Theory of Inventive Problem Solving) the project of a group of specialists led by Technical Director Armen Kamalyan was recognized as the best.
In the nomination "Ecology" the competition committee awarded the first place to the project "Arrangement of the storage area for aluminum slag". The goal of its developers - the head of the labor protection, industrial safety and ecology department Vahe Tamazyan and the specialist Tamara Zatikyan - was to improve the environmental situation on the territory of the enterprise. In the nominations "Productivity", "Quality" and "Safety" won technical improvements - kaizens, introduced in the smelting and foil-rolling departments. According to Artur Galustyan, Head of the Production Systems Development Department of ARMENAL, the winners of the factory stage will take part in the corporate stage of RUSAL's "Improvements of the Year 2021" competition. The ARMENAL plant has been part of RUSAL since 2000. It is one of the largest industrial enterprises in Armenia and the only producer of aluminum foil in the Caucasus and Central Asia. Created on the basis of the Kanaker aluminum plant, which was commissioned in 1950.
