ArmInfo.Chaired by acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, the government held a meeting on the current state of the RA state budget, the process of tax collections and the draft budget for 2022.
According to the press service of the government, Pashinyan noted that "things are going well with budget tax collections and tax revenues are being collected at an accelerated pace." " Now it is obvious that we will exceed the tax revenues in the second quarter, that is, in the first half of the year, how much, it will be clear tonight," he said.
At the same time, acting Prime Minister pointed to the low level of government spending. This item of the expenditure side of the budget, according to him, is important for ensuring economic growth in the future.
Pashinyan also touched upon the sector of government procurement. According to him, one should think about how effective the current system is.
The acting head of government attached importance to the implementation of consistent work in these areas. To recall, in early June, head of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) Eduard Hovhannisyan said that the actual tax collections of the Armenian state treasury for the first 5 months of 2021 exceeded the comparable figure for 2020 and 2019. In particular, in fact, the tax collections of the state treasury in January-May of this year amounted to 618.4 billion drams, which is 34.8 billion drams more than the comparable figure in 2020 and 47.2 billion drams more than the comparable figure in 2019. The chairman of the SRC avoided announcing the expected final annual indicator of tax revenues to the state treasury, but assured that they would strive to collect as much taxes as possible. "The program indicator, laid down in the state budget, will be fulfilled by the end of the year," he said. According to the approved state budget for 2021, state treasury revenues will amount to 1 trillion 509 billion 462 million 935 thousand drams. Tax revenues (tax collection and state duty) will amount to 1 trillion 440 billion 136 million 839.5 thousand drams.
As for the tax "results" of 2020, according to the "Report on the implementation of the state budget for 2020," expenditures exceeded the indicator of 1.855 trillion drams by 40 billion drams - up to 1.895 trillion drams, and in comparison with 2019 they increased by about 266 billion drams. Meanwhile, the actual tax collections of the state treasury amounted to 1.385 trillion drams - about 217 billion drams less than 1.602 trillion in the state budget. Capital expenditures for the past year were about 85% of the adjusted figure.
