ArmInfo.Armenia and China are discussing various directions for developing cooperation. Chinese Ambassador to Armenia Fan Yong stated this in an interview with journalists on July 2 in Yerevan.
"We want to find options and means for optimal and effective cooperation. Now we are working to ensure that more tourists from China come to Armenia, and more Armenian businessmen go to China. We work to ensure that Armenian products of interest to Chinese consumers are introduced to our markets. These are alcoholic beverages - especially brandy and wine, honey and much more," the diplomat said.
In his words, in parallel with this, a search is underway for Chinese investors who will express interest in the Armenian market. In this vein, he added that due to the well-known difficulties that have arisen over the past two years, this work has somewhat stalled.
Paying attention to the fact that the Chinese Communist Party celebrated its 100th anniversary on June 1, Fan Yong expressed his conviction that the international conference on this occasion being held in Yerevan today is aimed at exchanging experience with the Armenian parties.
In this regard, the diplomat noted that the Armenian authorities at all levels expressed their readiness to work with the Chinese side to plan further bilateral cooperation. In this vein, he recalled the centuries-old cooperation between Yerevan and Beijing, and assured that the purpose of this event is to increase the level of happiness of people in Armenia, to contribute to the development of a friendly state.
"Next year, we will celebrate 30 years of establishing diplomatic relations between Armenia and China. All these 30 years we have interacted in a positive manner, cooperated with each other. We are ready to share our development experience with Armenia, and from the bottom of our hearts we wish the Armenian people a better life. Now Armenia is in a difficult situation, but I am sure that means will be found to get out of this situation," the diplomat summed up.
To note, the conversation with the Ambassador took place on the sidelines of an international conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party, which is being held in Yerevan today.
