ArmInfo. Foreign trade turnover between the EAEU member states in January-May 2021 compared to the same period last year increased by 33%, amounting to $ 26.8 billion, Iya Malkina, Assistant Chairperson of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), said during a briefing on July 21.
At the same time, she noted that there is an increase in exports and imports in all countries of the Eurasian Union. In this regard, she pointed to an increase in the volume of exports of Kyrgyzstan - by 75%, and the volume of import purchases in Belarus - by 47%.
Malkina also said that during the reporting period, the EAEU countries registered an increase in foreign trade with third countries, the volume of which increased by 19% - up to $ 297.4 billion. In particular, she pointed out that exports to the markets of third countries increased from Belarus - by 58%, and also Armenia and Russia - by 18%. The growth in the volume of imports was observed, according to her, in all the countries of the EAEU. However, the highest rates were provided by Kyrgyzstan - by 61%, and Russia - by 28%.
At the same time, the assistant to the head of the EEC said that the allied states were actively engaged in trade with all EU countries, the share in the turnover of which was 39%, in particular with Germany about 8%, the Netherlands - more than 6%. The share of trade with APEC countries (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) was 36%, while the coverage of trade with China reached 20%.
To note, according to the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, Armenia's foreign trade turnover with the EAEU countries in January-May 2021 compared to the same period in 2020 increased by 11.1% (against 3.2% growth a year earlier), amounting to $ 909.2 million. The upward trend of Armenia's foreign trade turnover with the EAEU countries was caused by Russia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, and in the direction of Belarus, foreign trade sank. In particular, the foreign trade turnover of Armenia with Russia accelerated the annual growth from 3.1% to 11.9%, with Kazakhstan - from 13.8% to 67.5%, with Kyrgyzstan came out of the 32.8% decline by 81% growth, and with Belarus, on the contrary, reversed the dynamics from 5.5% growth to 18.8% decline.
Armenia's foreign trade turnover with the EU countries in January-May 2021 grew by 16.6% (from a 19.8% decline a year earlier), amounting to $ 573.2 million. In the structure of Armenia's foreign trade with the EU countries, Germany accounts for the largest share - 19.9% or $ 114.3 million (with an improvement in annual dynamics from a 30.7% decline to 25% growth), Italy - 18.3% or $ 105.1 million (with an output of annual dynamics from 22.9% decline by 23.9% growth), Bulgaria - 14.8% or $ 85.1 million (with a reversal of the annual trend from 5.8% decline to 10.5% growth), the Netherlands - 11.9% or $ 68 million (with the release of the annual dynamics from the 23.9% decline to 9.1% growth), and France - 7% or $ 39.9 million (with the reversal of the annual trend from 2.1% decline to 7.1 % growth).
