Telecommunications operators of Armenia reduced tax payments to the  state budget by 12.8% in H1, 2021

ArmInfo. Four telecom operators of Armenia paid taxes to the budget for the first half of 2021 a total of 17.7 billion drams ($ 35.7 million), which is lower than a  year ago by 12.8%. Of this amount, 5.7 billion were paid as direct  taxes (including income tax, tax on profit) and 8.1 billion - on  indirect taxes (including VAT, excise tax).

According to the RA State Revenue Committee, the leader among  communication operators in Armenia is MTS Armenia (VivaCell-MTS  trademark), which took the 8th position on the list of 1000 largest  taxpayers, against the 12th one a year earlier. MTS Armenia paid 8.8  billion drams to the state treasury in the first half of 2021, of  which 27.7 million drams - for customs duties, 3.8 billion drams for  direct taxes, 3.4 billion drams - for indirect taxes.

UCom follows the leader with a small margin (13th place, against the  17th a year earlier), which transferred 5.6 billion AMD to the  budget, of which 287 million AMD - for customs duties, 938.3 million  AMD- for direct taxes and 2.8 billion drams - for indirect taxes.

Telecom Armenia (Beeline trademark) allocated 2.2 billion drams taxes  to the budget, of which 415.1 million - on direct taxes and 1.5  billion - on indirect taxes, and payments on customs duties amounted  to 42.1 million drams. In the general list of 1000 largest taxpayers,  Telecom Armenia dropped to the 39th place from the 8th a year  earlier.

GNC Alpha (Rostelecom trademark) paid 977.4 million drams to the  budget in taxes, of which 1.4 million drams - for customs duties,  482.5 million - for direct taxes and 454.8 million - for indirect  taxes, having moved to the 113th place from the 125th a year earlier  on the total the list of 1000 largest taxpayers.

To recall, in the first half of 2020, the four telecom operators paid  a total of 20.3 billion drams to the budget through taxes, of which  9.5 billion drams in direct taxes. At that time, Telecom Armenia was  the leader among operators in terms of tax payments, followed by MTS  Armenia, UCom, and GNC Alfa.
