
ArmInfo. In H1 2021, Armenia's textile industry has grown 3- fold compared to the same period in 2020, (against a 32.2% decline in the previous year), amounting to 844.8 million drams. This is evidenced by the data of the RA Statistical Committee. During the month alone, production volumes decreased by 1.9% to 155.9 million drams. The growth in the textile industry was provoked by a 5-fold increase (against a 1.8-fold growth a year earlier) fabrics produced by Armenian factories - up to 14.5 tons. A significant y-o-y growth was recorded in the production of bedding sets - 5.1 times to 92.6 thousand pieces. (instead of 2.3 times growth over the same period in 2020)
The production of tights, leggings, socks and other hosiery also increased - up to 11144.7 thousand pairs, which is 20.5% higher than a year ago (against 8% growth a year earlier). At the same time, the recession in the textile industry was delayed: production of carpets and rugs - by 70.6% to 1.5 tons (against a decline of 75.1% a year earlier); production of jumpers, pullovers, jackets, jackets (vests) or similar products (knitted or crocheted) - by 40.4% to 1,866.9 thousand pieces (against a decline of 3.1% a year earlier). The production of footwear (excluding sports footwear) also decreased - by 8.4% to 62,114 pairs (against an increase of 24.8% a year earlier).
