ArmInfo. In Armenia, in H1 2021, the service sector reversed the vector from 6.4% decline to 2.7% growth, as a result of which the volume exceeded 861.7 billion drams ($ 1.6 billion).
According to the data of the RA Statistical Committee, in June alone, the volume of services provided increased by 3.9%, amounting to 158.6 billion drams ($ 309.1 million). During the reporting period, an improvement in the y-o-y dynamics was observed in all areas, except for the sector of culture, recreation and entertainment, the y-o-y dynamics of which turned out to be in a 36.1% decline (against 1.6% growth a year earlier).
In particular, the sector of catering and organization of tourist accommodation changed from a 42.6% decline to 62.5% growth, education - from a 16.4% decline to 6.9% growth, healthcare - from 8.8% decline to 42.6% growth, real estate - from a 12.3% decline to 18.9% growth, transport - from a 25.8% decline to 7.3% growth, administrative and auxiliary activities - from a 36.4% decline to 14.1% growth, professional, scientific and technical activities - from an 11.5% decline to 24.4% growth.
Acceleration of the y-o-y growth in the volume of services provided was distinguished by the sector of information and communication - from 7.1% to 12.7%. A slowdown in the y-o-y growth in the volume of services provided was recorded in the financial sector (including insurance) - from 11.7% to 3.1%.
According to the statistics, the financial sector is in the lead in terms of the volume of services provided - 233 billion drams (27% of the total), with the lion's share accounted for by banks. The second place is taken by the sector of information and communication - 152.1 billion drams (17.6%), and the main load falls on the telecommunications segment. The third place in terms of the volume of services is taken by the sector of culture, entertainment and recreation - 121.4 billion drams (14.1% of the total). The fourth place is taken by the transport sector - 89.4 billion drams (10.4%). The fifth place in terms of the volume of services provided is taken by the catering and tourism sectors - 72.2 billion drams (8.4%).
The average calculated AMD exchange rate in June 2021 was 513.09 AMD / $ 1, and in January-June 2021 - 522.08 AMD / $ 1, against 481.27 AMD / $ 1 in June 2020 and 483.50 AMD / $ 1- in January - June 2020
