Foreigners in Armenia prefer to sell real estate rather than buy it

ArmInfo. In the first half of 2021, 1,919 real estate transactions were carried out by foreigners in Armenia, which is 14.7% more than a year ago. According to the RA  State Cadastre of Real Estate, in total, non-residents accounted for  7.7% of the total number of transactions, against 8.4% in the same  period a year earlier.

In particular, during the reporting period in Armenia, out of the  total number of transactions of foreigners with real estate, sales  were the most - 1314, and only 558 were bought. As a result, in the  first half of this year foreigners bought 605 real estate objects,  sold - 1361.

At the same time, the lion's share in terms of the purchase of real  estate by foreigners falls on apartments - 42.8%, followed by land  (22.3%), private houses (19.5%), garages (8.6%), public buildings  values (4.8%), and the lowest percentage falls on the purchase of  buildings of industrial value (2%).  As in the case of buying, the  lion's share of sales is also accounted for by apartments - 37%,  followed by land (32%), private houses (25.6%), garages (2.6%),  public buildings (2.4 %), and the smallest number of sales falls on  buildings of industrial importance (0.5%).

The most actively buying and selling real estate in Armenia are  citizens of the Russian Federation, the USA, Iran, a number of  European countries and the CIS. For all indicators for the reporting  period, there is a dominance of sales over buying in transactions of  foreigners with real estate.
