ArmInfo. State support programs for agriculture have an effective impact on the development of processing enterprises in Armenia. This was stated by the RA Deputy Minister of Economy Arman Khojoyan during his visit to the Proshyan Brandy and Ararat Wine Factories, where reconstruction and re-equipment of enterprises is being carried out. According to the press service of the RA Ministry of Economy, during the trip, Arman Khojoyan discussed with the representatives of the two companies the instruments of state support in the process of harvesting grapes, the existing problems in the production of wines and brandy and possible ways to solve them.
In particular, the Director of the Proshyan brandy factory Armen Gasparyan said that under the state leasing support program, a warehouse with an area of 1500 sq.m. is being built at the factory, which will be equipped with modern control systems. In addition, according to him, this year the plant will increase the volume of containers by about 10,000 tons, due to which production capacity will be increased. Gasparyan also said that this year the volume of grape harvesting will not be inferior to last year's volumes. During the visit, it became known that in the near future it is planned to harvest apples. In order to check the quality, a laboratory equipped with state-of-the-art German equipment has been operating at the plant for a year already.
On the same day, the Deputy Minister got acquainted with the new production capabilities of the Ararat wine factory. It was noted that this year the plant has expanded its production capacity by 950 tons, which will increase the volume of grape harvesting.
Note that in 2020, according to customs data, Armenia increased the export of grapes by 49.4% - up to 18 thousand tons. The customs value increased by 92.3% to $ 12.2 million. At the same time, in 2020, the volumes of exported wine decreased by 5.9% to 2.6 million liters, and the customs value decreased by 27.3% to $ 8.6 million.
According to the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, in 2020 the area of vineyards in Armenia amounted to 16 681 hectares, having increased in annual terms by only 1.1%. At the same time, the grape harvest reached 2.8 million centners in 2020, with an annual growth of 30.2%.
