ArmInfo. Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Gnel Sanosyan invited British investors to implement infrastructure projects in Armenia. The head of the department said this at a today's meeting with the British Ambassador to Armenia John Gallagher.
They talked about the fields of road construction, energy, water infrastructure, and the creation of energy saving systems. The British Ambassador, in turn, expressed readiness to consider new opportunities for cooperation, adding that the British side is aware of the priorities of the Armenian government in the field of infrastructure and is interested in participating in the mentioned programs. He stressed that investments in the North-South road corridor will be discussed with British companies. According to the press service of the department, the ambassador also informed about the possibilities of using the tools of the UK Export Finance (UKEF).
During the meeting, the parties especially discussed the possibilities of cooperation in the field of energy, the construction of the Armenia-Georgia power transmission line, the creation of generating capacities in the field of renewable energy sources, in particular the construction of solar power plants, noting the great unrealized potential for cooperation. They also touched upon the possibility of the participation of the British in the programs for the modernization of the ANPP, noting that British companies have enough experience and opportunities for this. Other issues of mutual interest were also raised.
