Conditions for granting subsidized state loans for grape purchases  revised in Armenia

ArmInfo.On September 2, the Armenian government revised the conditions for granting state-subsidized loans for the purchase of grapes at a Cabinet  meeting.

In particular, according to  Minister of Economy of Armenia Vahan  Kerobyan, presenting the draft decision, according to the changes,  the total period of loans for the purchase of grapes has been  extended from one year to three years, and the grace period - from  three months to one year. "This, on the one hand, will allow  enterprises to buy grapes more freely and in large volumes, on the  other hand, to pay off farmers faster, and also, by increasing the  volume of purchases to the maximum, in the future to be able to  export," the minister explained, assuring that all grape harvest -  about 180 thousand tons will be purchased.

As the head of the Ministry of Economy said, as of today, in terms of  the production of fresh agricultural products, Armenia has already  reached last year's figure and surpassed the figures of the year  before last - about 145 thousand tons. In general, Kerobyan expressed  satisfaction with the "agricultural year", expressing the hope that  by the end of the year it will be possible to overcome the mark of  200 thousand tons.

Vahan Kerobyan also said that the government has approved a large  investment program, which provides for investments in the amount of  3.5 billion drams. The investor plans to create 100 hectares of  intensive gardens within the framework of the investment project.

To note, according to the justification for the document, loans will  be issued in the amount of about 4 billion drams, of which up to 1.3  billion will be subsidized by the government.
