ArmInfo.In January-July 2021, Armenia generated 4,454.1 million kWh. electricity, which is higher than a year ago by 0.1% (against growth by 3.4% a year earlier). According to the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, in July alone, electricity generation increased by 23.5% - up to 632.1 million kWh.
In January-July 2021, TPPs increased electricity generation by 2.3% per annum - up to 1683.1 million kWh, and HPPs - by 22.4% - up to 1,482.6 million kWh. At the same time, the Armenian NPP reduced its electricity generation by 21.6% per annum, ensuring the volume of 1,237.6 million kWh. During the reporting period, 11.3 thousand gigajoules of thermal energy were produced, with an annual decline of 57%.
Wind power plants produced 0.9 million kWh of electricity in the reporting period, having reduced the volume on an annual basis by 40%.
And solar power plants have significantly increased the production of electricity - 5.6-fold, providing a volume of 49.9 million kWh.
