
ArmInfo.About 100 thousand residents of the Shirak, Lori, Armavir, Gegharkunik, Vayots Dzor and Syunik regions of the Republic of Armenia will be provided with round-the-clock water supply, Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Suren Papikyan reports on his Facebook page.
According to the information, within the framework of the program of the RA government, German KfW bank, the European Investment Bank and the EU, worth 81 million euros, round-the-clock water supply will be established in 11 cities and 37 villages of five regions of Armenia.
In these regions, work has already begun on replacing worn-out pipes, repairing daily regulation tanks and pumping stations, pumps, installing water meters and other infrastructure.
Thus, the project provides for the laying of more than 66 km of water pipelines, reconstruction of 20 water pipelines, control tanks, pumping stations, construction of 490 km of distribution network, installation of water pipelines 180 km long, about 18,000 measuring wells.
It is noted that in many beneficiary communities of the program, until now, there was no drinking water at all, and in some, water was supplied only for one to two hours a day, due to the severe deterioration of the water supply and distribution network.
