Online processes will replace paperwork and the need to visit customs

ArmInfo. The State Revenue Committee (SRC) of Armenia plans to fully transfer the implementation of customs procedures to an electronic platform thanks to cooperation  with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the  CSRC press service reported.

According to the information, the working group created for this  purpose has already begun to study the existing customs procedures,  existing problems and ways to overcome them. An assessment of the  available capacity is also underway. Based on the results of the  work, partners from the EBRD will offer the best model for digitizing  customs procedures. Upon completion of the project, a document will  be developed that financially justifies the reform strategy.

"During a meeting with an international expert involved in the work  of the working group, Deputy Chairperson of the SRC Shushan Nersisyan  has noted that the Committee is moving towards the digitization of  customs procedures," the statement says.

Having completed all the planned processes in the department, they  expect to form a completely new customs service. In particular, when  customs clearance of goods, an economic entity or his representative  will no longer have to have direct contact with a customs officer;  online processes will replace paperwork and the need to visit  customs.
