Growth is also observed in the line of imports of rough diamonds, the volume of which increased by 58.7% (against a 38.8% decline in the previous year), amounting to 407.2 thousand carats, with an increase in customs value by 64.6% - up to $ 54.7 million.
The main export of polished diamonds from Armenia falls on Russia (54.3%) and the United Arab Emirates (45.1%), and the rest of the scanty volumes to Belgium, Hong Kong, Belarus, Israel, Georgia. Rough diamonds are imported to Armenia, mainly from Hong Kong (44.5%), UAE (33.6%), India (11.1%), and much less from Belgium (3.9%), Russia (3 .4%), Switzerland (1.4%), Canada (0.2%).
According to the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, in H1 2021, jewelry production in Armenia decreased by 55.4% - to 10.5bln drams.
