ArmInfo. The ruling Civil Contract party nominated Artak Manukyan for the position of a member of the Council of the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia. This became known following the meeting of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly of Armenia on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs. As a result of the voting, 4 members of the Committee voted for Manukyan's candidacy, 1 against.
"I believe that the existing professional experience and competencies give reason to think that I can contribute to the further continuous improvement of the already established institute, share my experience, and use the knowledge that is there," said the candidate for membership in the Central Bank Council. If elected to this post, Manukyan noted that, within the framework of his powers and activities, he will try to contribute to the development of a new strategy of the Central Bank, since the latter dates back to 2018-2020. I intend to pay special attention to work on the digital agenda, improving financial literacy, etc. It should be noted that from 2019 to 2021 Artak Manukyan held the position of Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs. During the activity of the Parliament of the 7th convocation, he authored and co-authored 21 bills, of which 17 were approved. From June 2018 to January 2019, Manukyan served as Advisor to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.
