ArmInfo. According to the statistics department of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), in the Q1 of this year the net inflow of mutual direct investments in the Eurasian Economic Union amounted to $ 663.2 million, or 93% to the level of the corresponding quarter of last year.
This was announced during the briefing by the Assistant to the Chairman of the EEC Iya Malkina. The predominant instruments of mutual direct investment, she said, were investments in the capital of companies, including reinvestment of income, investments in shares and shares of investment funds. In the structure of mutual direct investments, the largest inflow was observed in Belarus ($ 501 million), and Kazakhstan ($ 137 million). The main investor, as Malkina noted, is still the Russian Federation. "The total volume of investments in all countries of the world in the first quarter of 2021 amounted to $ 7.1 billion, in their composition the share of mutual investments increased to 9%. Such indicators against the background of a significant decrease in the volume of mutual direct investments in 2020 can be considered as a rapid recovery of business activity in the EAEU>, she stressed.
According to the data of the National Statistical Committee, in the period from January to March 2021, the total inflow of investments in Armenia amounted to 60,927.3 million drams, of which foreign direct investments amounted to 18,946.1 billion drams (an increase of 28,508.4 million drams). In 2020, the inflow of foreign investments registered a negative indicator of minus 15 390.2 million drams, of which direct investments amounted to minus 9 562.3 million drams.
