ArmInfo.The average monthly salary (average earnings) in Armenia in Jan-June 2021, compared to last year, increased by 5.4%, amounting to 196 thousand 400 drams. This was announced on September 27 by Minister of Finance of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Khachatryan, presenting the progress of the implementation of the state budget for the first half of the year for 2021 at a meeting of the Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs.
At the same time, the average salary in the public sector increased by 3.9%, reaching 168 thousand 347 drams, and in the private sector - by 5.9%, having increased to about 209 thousand 900 drams.
During the reporting period in Armenia, as compared to the same period last year, the number of people unemployed also increased. In particular, the average monthly number of officially registered unemployed people, compared to the same period in 2020, increased by 1.6%, amounting to 62 322 people.
