Funding for Prime Minister`s Office to be cut by more than a third in  2022

ArmInfo. The expenses of the Prime Minister's Office, including the administrative staff, will be cut by 34.5% in 2022. Minister of Finance of Armenia Tigran  Khachatrian stated this on November 3 at the preliminary discussions  of the state budget at the joint sitting of the NA Standing  Committees.

According to the Minister, the state treasury will allocate 19  billion 675.3 million drams for the implementation of 11 programs (2  - through the Diaspora) and 45 events next year, against 30 billion  024 million drams approved for 2021. The reduction, as explained by  the head of the Ministry of Finance, is partly due to the fact that a  number of programs previously implemented by the Prime Minister's  Office in 2022 will be carried out by other government agencies, in  particular, the Ministry of High-Tech Industry.

Thus, the state treasury will allocate 3 billion 054.7 million drams  for the implementation of the modernization program of the public  sector, instead of 3 billion 172.3 million drams in 2021. 1 billion  915.7 million drams will be allocated for the program to ensure the  fulfillment of the duties of the Prime Minister of the Republic of  Armenia (excluding the costs of maintaining the administration).   860.6 million drams are provided for the implementation of the public  notification program against 1 billion 145.9 million drams in 2021.  Another 374.6 million drams will be directed to the implementation of  the Armenia-Diaspora cooperation program.

To note, according to the draft budget for 2022, the expenditures of  the state treasury of Armenia, compared with the approved state  budget for 2021, will grow by 18.2% or 337.5 billion drams - up to 2  trillion 188.4 billion drams, of which 1 trillion 841.9 billion drams  or 23.4% of GDP will be directed to cover current expenditures
