ArmInfo. In Armenia, following the results of 9 months of 2021, double-digit growth was registered in all alcoholic beverages produced in the country. In particular, according to the data of the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, during the reporting period, 30.3 million liters brandy were produced in Armenia, which is 20.9% higher than a year ago (against a 12% decline a year earlier).
The volume of wine produced in Armenia increased by 40.8% (against a decline of 22.9% a year earlier), amounting to 9.3 million liters, including 433.8 thousand liters of sparkling wine (champagne) with a y-o-y growth of 26.1% (against a decline of 17.9% a year earlier).
The production of vodka, liqueur and other alcoholic beverages also increased - by 11.6% to 3.2 million liters, while a year earlier a decline of 21.7% was recorded.
During the reporting period, beer production also increased - by 22.3% (against a decline of 10.3% a year earlier) to 23.7 million liters.
The volume of whiskey production in Armenia showed an increase of 2.8-fold (against a decline of 64.4% a year earlier), amounting to 594.3 thousand liters.
To recall, in H1 2021, according to customs data, Armenia exported 1.4 million liters of wine, which is 56.6% higher than a year ago (against a decline of 30.6% a year earlier). At the same time, the customs value of exported wine increased by 55.7% to $ 5.1 million. Traditionally, the main export market for Armenian wine is the Russian Federation, which accounts for 59% of exports (against 69.8% H12020).
Export of beer in H1 2021 increased by 72.1% (against a decline of 56.7% a year earlier), amounting to 699.4 thousand liters, with a twofold increase in customs value - up to $ 672.9 thousand. The main market for export supplies of Armenian beer is also the Russian Federation, having increased its share a y-o-y terms from 64.6% to 74.7%.
In H12021, Armenia increased the export of ethyl alcohol (with a strength of up to 80 degrees) by 22.9% to 12.2 million liters, including alcohol-containing tincture, liqueur and other alcoholic beverages, while a year earlier a decline of 22.7% was recorded. At the same time, the customs value amounted to $ 95.1 million, which is 14.6% more than a year ago. The lion's share (85.9%) of ethyl alcohol export also falls on the Russian market. For some unknown reason, the RA Statistical Committee does not publish the export figures for brandy separately.
