
ArmInfo.The number of unemployed in the EAEU countries as of October 1 of this year amounted to 1.23 million people, which is almost 70% less than a year ago.
This was announced during the briefing by Iya Malkina, Assistant to the Chairperson of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), referring to the data registered in the Employment Services of the EAEU countries. Thus, according to her, the share of the unemployed was 1.3% of the total labor force. Last year, this figure, as noted by Malkina, was 4.4%.
To note, according to the RA Statistical Committee, in Q2 2021, the unemployment rate in Armenia decreased to 15% from 15.7% in Q2 2020 (against 17% in Q1 2021). At the same time, according to statistics, the employment rate in the country decreased in Q2 2021 to 47.4% from 47.6% in Q2 2020 (against 46.6% in Q1 2021). According to the source, as of October 1, 2021, the number of employed population reached 993 thousand people (with a y-o-y decline of 3.3%).
As of the reporting date, 89.1 thousand people were in search of job (y-o-y growth of 0.6%), of which 59.5 thousand are unemployed (y-o-y decline of 1%)
As of October 1, 2021, the demand from employers for labor increased by 23.9% per annum - to 2,771 people, which in turn reduced the load on 1 vacancy by 20% to 32 people.
In the reporting month, 983 citizens managed to find a job a y-o-y decline of 10.1%) or 1.1% of the total number of job seekers. To note, according to the forecast of the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia for 2021, updated in October, the unemployment rate was reduced to 15.7% from the previous 17.9% (against the actual 18.1% in 2020)
