Armenian-Iranian annual trade turnover could reach $1bln, ambassador  says

Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Abbas Badakhshan Zohouri, at his meeting with the Board of Directors of the Tehran Stock Exchange in Yerevan, spoke of growing  Armenian-Iranian trade turnover, IRNA reports.  The bilateral annual  trade turnover could in the near future be brought from the current  $400mln up to $1bln, the ambassador said. 

Mr Abbas Badakhshan Zohouri also spoke of the fields of interest to  Armenian and Iranian investors. According to him, Armenian investors  could invest in the Tehran Stock Exchange by means of the Araks and  Meghri free economic zones. At present, 6,100 foreign economic actors  are working on the Tehran Stock Exchange. Armenia's Statistical  Committee reported a 16.7% increase in the Armenian-Iranian trade  turnover this Jan-Sept, up to $341.3mln. Armenia's exports to Iran  totaled $46.2mln (a 28.6% year-on-year decrease), with imports  totaling $295.1mln (a 29.6% year-on-year increase).
