ArmInfo. On November 15, Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Mher Grigoryan received Vice President of the World Bank (WB) for Europe and Central Asia Anna Bjerde.
As the office of the Deputy Prime Minister reports, Grigoryan thanked for the assistance provided by the World Bank in this difficult period, emphasizing the role of the World Bank in the fight against COVID-19. In his words, cooperation with the World Bank is of key importance for Armenia. Presenting the main directions of the new program of the government, the Deputy Prime Minister stressed that the already established comprehensive partnership framework with the World Bank creates a serious basis for continuing joint work on the implementation of priority reforms of the government.
Anna Bjerde, in turn, noted that the World Bank and other development partners of Armenia have assessed the government's action plan as a target and comprehensive program aimed at solving the set tasks. On behalf of the World Bank, Anna Bjerde expressed readiness to continue assisting the implementation of the government's action plan.
Both sides focused on public administration reforms, including the digitalization process and actions to improve the efficiency of the public administration system. Efforts to develop human capital were discussed, especially in the context of tackling epidemic problems in the health and education sectors.
The parties exchanged views on popularizing vaccination against Covid-19, increasing public confidence in the process and deepening cooperation in this direction.
They also touched upon the development of a green economy in Armenia, as well as the need for the government to introduce incentive instruments in this direction
