
ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and World Bank (WB) Vice-President for Europe and Central Asia Anna Bjerde discussed the prospects for further cooperation on November 15.
During the meeting, Pashinyan praised Armenia's cooperation with the World Bank, within the framework of which programs aimed at developing various industries have been implemented and continues to be implemented. He spoke about the priorities of the government and, taking into account the successful experience of interaction with the WB, stressed the importance of deepening cooperation with the WB in this as well as other areas of mutual interest.
Anna Bjerde emphasized that the World Bank assesses the government's action plan as a targeted program for resisting the current challenges. The WB representative confirmed the readiness of the Bank to further support the Government of the Republic of Armenia in the implementation of the planned reforms.
The interlocutors discussed the prospects for partnership between the Republic of Armenia and the World Bank. Prospects for cooperation in education, infrastructure, digitalization, healthcare, renewable energy and other areas were discussed. The importance of programs aimed at public administration reforms, institutional capacity and human capital development was noted.
The parties exchanged views on cooperation in raising public awareness of the coronavirus vaccine and promoting this process. Nikol Pashinyan highly appreciated the support of the Armenian WB in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Prime Minister stressed that the government is committed to consistently implementing the reform program, and thanked the World Bank and the organization's Armenian office for their readiness to continue effective cooperation.
