According to the RA Statistical Committee, in Jan-Sept 2021, Armenia s industrial sector reported lower annual growth rates -0.7% against 1% last year, AMD 1,600bln ($3.1bln). A continuous downtrend in the processing industry and a lower growth rate in the mining industry account for this dynamics. Specifically, this Jan-Sept, the mining industry and open-cast mining showed a 0.1% year-on-year growth (against 16.7% the previous year) - up to AMD 441.5bln. The processing industry output showed a 0.6% year-over- year- decline against a 2.7% decline during the previous period - down to AMD 962.3bln. The greatest decline was recorded in the finished metals products output (44.7%), jewelry (3.7%), chemicals (25.1%), basic metals (21.1%) and cigarettes (13.3%).
