ArmInfo. On November 18, the Armenian government approved a program of activities of the executive body for 2021-2026.
During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan recalled that on August 26 the National Assembly approved the government's program, on the basis of which the program of activities was developed and presented. The program defines the strategic goals, measures to achieve them, expected results, timing and funding sources. "The program, which consists of 439 main goals and 1276 measures, is based on the government's commitments, election promises made during the campaign of the Civil Contract party in the early parliamentary elections that took place on June 20, 2021, as well as on the goals of Armenia's Transformation Strategy until 2050 ", he said.
In addition, as Grigoryan pointed out, the program also reflects the fulfillment of the obligations assumed by Armenia under the Agreement on Comprehensive and Enhanced Cooperation, as well as the programs of Armenia and the EU implemented within the framework of the assistance package provided to Armenia in the amount of 2.6 billion euros under the EU economic and investment plan.
At the same time, as the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized, the presented document is consonant with both the main provisions of the strategic programs of the Eurasian Economic Union and the strategic cooperation approved for Armenia with other international organizations and donors, in particular, in terms of political goals. In particular, Grigoryan noted the Armenia-UN sustainable development cooperation in 2021-2025, the Memorandum of political, economic and financial cooperation with the International Monetary Fund for 2019-2022, the framework cooperation with the World Bank for 2019-2023, the strategy partnership with the Asian Development Bank for 2019-2023, the country's cooperation strategy with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for 2019-2024. The program should become the main plan of the government's activities, the Deputy Prime Minister stressed.
On August 26, the National Assembly of Armenia adopted the program of the Government of Armenia. 70 MP voted "for" the adoption of the program, there were no votes "against" and "abstained". "Hayastan" and "I Have the Honor" opposition factions did not take part in the voting, leaving the meeting room.
The program consists of 6 sections: security and foreign policy, economics, infrastructure development, human capital development, law and justice, institutional development. As stated in a joint statement of the "Hayastan" ("Armenia" - ed. note) and "I Have the Honor" opposition blocs the government program does not contain practical solutions to existing urgent problems, moreover, it contains serious risks.
