Armenia most important EAEU member - Ilya Malkina

Armenia is a most important member of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), which is actively exporting its products to the other member-states, Iya  Malkina, Assistant to the Chairman of the Eurasian Economic  Commission, stated during a Yerevan- Bishkek-Minsk-Nursultan video  conference.  

In this context she spoke of the dynamics of trade turnover and  Armenian exports to the EAEU member- states, especially since 2020.  She noted Armenia`s rades with the EAEU member-states has increased  2.5- fold - fruits exports showed a 6-hold increase, vegetables  exports, 4-fold increase and exports of alcoholic beverages have  increase nearly 2-fold. 

"It should be noted that the share of trade with the EAEU  member-states in Armenia`s trade balance was 24% in 2014 and has  reached 34% by now," Malkina said. 

At present, Armenia`s trade with the EAEU member-states is $710mln.  Malkina noted that it is a considerable figure for Armenia, which is  the immediate result of growing output, encouragement of contacts,  etc.. 

"This is evidence that all the decisions aimed at promoting mutual  trade are producing results," Malkina said. 

According to the RA Statistical Committee, Armeni`s trade with the  EAEU member-states showed a 12.8% increase this Jan-Sept as compared  with Jan-Sept 2020 - up to $1.8bln. Specifically, Armenia`s trade  with Russia totaled $1.7bln (a 13.5% increase), with Kazakhstan =,  $11.8mln (a 53.1% increase), with Kyrgyzstan $1.7mln (a 38.4%  increase), with Belarus $53.9mln (a 10.9% decrease).
