ArmInfo.Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia Arman Khojoyan received representatives of the Center for Environmental Solutions of the Republic of Belarus "Ecoidea". Specialists from companies engaged in organic farming in the Republic of Belarus also attended the meeting.
According to the press service of the RA Ministry of Economy, the purpose of the meeting is to discuss the current state of organic agriculture of the two countries, problems and opportunities for exchange of experience. The guests noted that Armenia is one of the leaders in the region in this area, and called the implementation of joint projects in the field of organic agriculture realistic. During the discussion, an exchange of views took place on a number of related issues related to the production, processing, certification of organic food.
Arman Khojoyan noted that organic agriculture in Armenia has great potential for development, but the existing opportunities are not used enough. The deputy minister told the guests about the state programs for supporting agriculture, developed by the Ministry of Economy, and then added that a lot of work is being done in Armenia to develop organic agriculture by both local and international organizations.
At the end of the meeting, the interlocutors expressed the hope that they would be able to record a noticeable positive shift in a number of areas of cooperation. Further actions and prospects for cooperation are outlined.
The meeting was organized by the controlling body for organic certification "Ecoglob" LLC.
