Yerevan budget expenditures to reach $204mln in 2022

ArmInfo. Yerevan`s budget will total AMD 94,560.2mln (about $195mln) in 2022, Vice-Mayor Sergey Nersisyan said. 

It is AMD 2.2bln more than this year. 

Yerevan`s budget revenues will total AMD 92,420.2mln against  92,420mln approved for this year and AMD 107.12bln in 2020. The  city`s own revenues are to total AMD 34m538.6mln - AMD 3,844.8mlm  (12,5%) more than in 2021. The budgeted tax revenues are AMD  25.348bln - AMD 3,115.7mln (14%) more than in 2021. The budgeted  local duties are AMD 3,152.5mln - AMD 32mln less than in 2021.   Official grants will total AMD 22,449.6mln - AMD 3,261.3mln (12.7%)  less than in 2021. Other revenues are planned to reach AMD 46.762mln.   The Yerevan budget expenditures will reach AMD 98,821.2mln (about  $204mln) against AMD 110.777mln this year and AMD 116.233bln in 2020.  The administrative budget will total AMD 93,405.2mln, with a total of  AMD 6,530.4mln to be allocated to the funds. 

Current expenditures will constitute about 94.5% of the total  expenditures - about AMD 93.405bln, with a total of AMD 10,779.8mln  to be allocated to wages. Net spendings on non-financial assets will  total AMD 15.8bln. The wage fund of the Yerevan administration will  total 7,857.2mln. 

The Yerevan budget deficit is AMD 4.261bln against AMD 8.356bln. 

Yerevan`s increased own revenues will ensure the implementation of a  number of projects: purchase of buses and elevators, renovation of  kindergartens and medical institutions, enlargement of green belts. A  total of AMD 5.8bln are planned for major renovations of  kindergartens, with 22 kindergartens involved in the programme. Since  2018, 52 kindergartens have been renovated. A total of AMD 500mln  will be allocated the medical institutions in charge of the Yerevan  Municipality, with four of them to undergo major renovations. Since  2018, the municipal budget has funded the renovation of 28 medical  institutions.  The Yerevan Municipality plans to install 100 new  elevators this year. According to the draft budget, a total of 3,500  residential buildings in Yerevan need new elevators. In 2019-2020,  550 new elevators were installed, with another 100 this year. The  budget allows the installation of 280 new elevators instead of the  planned 100, with about 1,000 new elevators to be installed in  Yerevan by the end of 2022. 

The Yerevan city bus fleet will be replenished with 100 new buses. In  2020 and 2021, 311 new buses were purchased. The Yerevan Municipality  also plans a stage-by-stage increase in wages of preschool teachers.
