ANIF sums up 2021

ArmInfo. In 2021, the Armenian National Interests Fund (ANIF) and its subsidiary company Entrepreneur + State Anti-Crisis Investments Fund have implemented a  number of large-scale strategic projects. A number of new projects  will be launched next year, ANIF reports. 

Among the 2021 projects is Ayg-1 - the construction of 200MW  photovoltaic power station in Armenia.  Armenia`s government and the  Masdar company (UAE) reached a relevant agreement this November. The  investment project is worth $174mln, the electricity tariff to be  $0.0290 without (VAT). Masdar will hold 85% of the shares, with ANIF  to hold 15%. The construction is to be completed in two years.  One  more significant agreement was signed with Air Arabia this July.  Under the agreement Armenia is to found a national airline. The  result was the foundation of the independent joint airline Fly Arna -  (Armenian National Airlines), which is based at the Zvartnots  airport. The airline plans to start flights next spring. 

ANIF has also implemented an agricultural investment project in  cooperation with Yeremyan Projects.  Under the project high-quality  fodder will be manufactured in an area of 225 hectares. ANIF share in  the $2mln worth project is $500,000.    

In the health sector, under an ANIF-implemented project, funds were  allocated for the construction of a new building for the Clinic of  Modern Surgery in Yerevan. ANIF share in the $1.23mln worth project  is $60,000.  

World-famous Hard Rock Caf‚ will open in Yerevan in the first half of  2022. A franchise agreement was signed by Hard Rock International and  the Food Republic company. ANIF share in the $2mln project is  $500,000. Hard Rock International will open at 3/1 Pushkin Str. 

Among ANIF achievements is also an agreement with Intesa Sanpaolo  bank group. The parties will cooperate under projects of mutual  interest to Armenian and Italian businesses. The agreement will open  up new opportunities to the two economies.  

ANIF has also organized a number of workshops for exporters attended  by the founders of about 30 leading Armenian companies. 

"By participating in the prospective business projects, ANIF is  contributing to economic diversification and creating additional  values, building domestic and foreign investors` confidence in  Armenia as a reliable partner," the report reads.
