ArmInfo. For 2022, the Road Department Fund of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures is hatching ambitious plans for the volume of road construction work. This was stated by Vahagn Stepanyan, Head of the Program Management Division of the Road Department Fund.
In particular, according to him, it is planned to complete the construction work of all alternative roads in the Syunik region. In addition, during the new year, it is planned to commission the "Tranche 3" section of the "North-South" investment program and at the same time it is planned to start work on the "Tranche 2" section.
According to the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, the construction of Bagratashen Bridge-M6 section, as well as the reconstruction of interstate, state and community roads will be completed in 2022.
In total, according to the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Gnel Sanosyan, in 2021 it was possible to carry out construction and repair work of 800 km roads. Of them 218.5 km of roads were repaired by the Road Department Fund, for which AMD 26 billion was allocated from the state budget.
The minister added the construction of alternative roads in Syunik, in particular on the Tatev-Aghvan section with a length of 43 km, to the unplanned works of last year. In addition, according to him, intensive work has begun on the construction of a road connecting the city of Kapan with 6 villages, which, due to the closure of the Kapan-Chakaten road, have lost contact with the regional center. The road will pass through the forest area and will become an alternative to the road through Meghri, which is difficult to pass and takes 2 hours for residents of a number of villages in the community.
