Turkish Pegasus Airline to carry out Yrevan-Istanbul-Yerevan flights

ArmInfo. The RA Civil Aviation Committee has issued a licence to Pegasus Airline (Turkey) for Yerevan-Istanbul-Yerevan irregular commercial flights, an official  report reads.

The low-cost Turkish airline earlier applied to the RA Civil Aviation  Committee for a licence for Istanbul- Yerevan-Istanbul flights. From  February 3 to 6, the airline plans to carry out biweekly flights, and  from February 7 to 27, three flights a week.

Armenia's aviation authorities earlier licensed Flyone Armenia to  carry out the flights. This October, the RA Civil Aviation Committee  issued a certificate to the airline, which was established by the  Armenian SIL Group in cooperation with the Moldova-based FlyOne  airline. The airline received IATA 3F and ICAO FIE codes. The airline  operates Airbus A320 planes, which meet all the IATA and EASA  Security standards. The airline planned to start flights three times  a week from January 1, 2022, but no flight has so far been carried  out.

On December 6, 2021, Turkish FM Mevlut Cavusoglu stated that Ankara  was considering applications by Armenian and Turkish airlines. In  mid-December 2021, Ankara and Yerevan announced the appointment of  special representatives for normalization of bilateral relations.  Moreover, Armenia's government decided to remove the ban on Turkish  goods from January 1, 2022. The ban was imposed late in December  2020.
