Manufacturing industry in Armenia has grown in 11 months

ArmInfo.The industrial sector of Armenia increased production in January-November 2021 by 2.7% (against a decline of 0.2% a year earlier), amounting to 2.1  trillion drams ($ 4.1 billion). As evidenced by the data of the  Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, such dynamics is  due to the improvement in the trend of the manufacturing industry -  with the exit from recession to growth, with a negligible recession  in the mining sector.

Moreover, in November 2021 alone, industrial production in Armenia  showed an increase of 13.8%, providing a volume of 257 billion drams  ($ 537.8 million).

According to the source, in January-November 2021, by the same period  of 2020, a 0.4% decline was recorded in the mining industry and in  open pit development (against an increase of 12.7% a year earlier),  with a volume of AMD 538.2 billion, of which AMD 47.3 billion fell in  November monthly growth of 0.4%.

The volume of the manufacturing industry increased in  January-November by 2.6% per annum (against a decline of 3.4% a year  earlier), amounting to 1.3 trillion drams, of which 182.5 billion  drams fell in November with an increase of 18.2% over the month.

In the manufacturing industry, in January-November 2021 decline in  volumes was recorded: in the production of finished metal products  (by 40.9%), jewelry (by 34.6%), the chemical industry (by 24.9%), the  production of cigarettes (by 14, 3%), basic metals (by 13.5%),  computers, optical and electronic equipment (by 1.2%) a.  At the same  time, in January-November 2021 a growth was recorded:  in the  production of textiles (2.2- fold), machinery and equipment (94.7%),  beverages (25.5%), clothing (24.4%), other non-metallic mineral  products (23.4 %), furniture (by 22.9%), rubber and plastic products  (by 20.9%), electronic equipment (by 5.4%), pharmaceutical products  (by 3.9%), food (by 2, 8%) and printing activity (by 2.3%).  In the  manufacturing industry, the leaders in terms of production are food  (475.5 billion drams), beverages (183 billion drams), base metals  (164.2 billion drams), cigarettes (123.8 billion drams).

According to statistics, the supply of electricity, gas, steam and  conditioned air as a whole increased in January-November 2021 by 8%  against the same period of 2020 (against an increase of 0.4% a year  earlier) - up to 247.8 billion drams. In November alone, an increase  of 16.1% was recorded - up to 25.3 billion drams. Moreover,  generation, transmission and distribution of electricity in  January-November showed an increase of 6.6% per annum, while gas  production, distribution of gaseous fuel through gas supply systems  increased by 15.3% per annum.  Revenues from water supply, waste  treatment and processing and production of secondary raw materials  increased in January-November by 6.9% per annum (against a 14.4%  decline a year earlier) - to 21.1 billion drams, with a decline of  10.8 in November % - up to 1.8 billion drams. Moreover, the upward  trend in this segment was mainly due to the collection, processing  and disposal of waste, the production of secondary raw materials,  with a y-o-y growth of 12.4%.  The average settlement rate of the  dram to the US dollar was AMD 477.66 / $ 1 in November 2021, and AMD  505.46 / $ 1 in January-November 2021.
