EEC approved recommendation aimed at developing cooperation between  EAEU countries in copper industry

ArmInfo. The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) adopted a recommendation aimed at developing cooperation between the states of the Eurasian Economic Union in the copper industry.

As stated on the EEC website, the recommendation identifies promising  areas of industrial cooperation in the production of copper products,  taking into account the specialization and potential of the EAEU  countries - from the collection and processing of copper scrap to the  production of copper wire. The document also includes an open list of  producers and consumers of the EAEU in each area of cooperation.

"Stable cooperative ties have been formed in the EAEU between mining  and processing enterprises of the copper industry. It is necessary to  create conditions for their further development in a changing  environment", said Artak Kamalyan, Minister for Industry and  Agro-Industrial Complex of the EEC.

According to him, in order to reduce environmental damage, introduce  advanced technologies for the development of new copper deposits,  taking into account the reduction in the developed raw material base  of the Union, it is planned to exchange experience in modernizing  copper mining and processing enterprises. In addition, it is also  planned to increase the efficiency of cooperation between countries  in the production of high value-added copper products.

"The implementation of the recommendation will help create a closed  production cycle in the Union - from the collection of copper ore to  the production of finished products for sale to consumers in related  industries, and will also provide an opportunity to work on the  climate agenda," Artak Kamalyan summed up.

According to the source, the document was prepared as part of the  implementation of the Main Directions for Industrial Cooperation in  the EAEU until 2025.
