Since February 1, tariff for electricity has increased in Armenia

ArmInfo.Since February 1, the tariff for electricity has increased in Armenia. At the same time, from January 1, the water tariff increased by 20.47 drams, and from  April 1, the gas tariff is expected to increase, and inflation in  January-December 2021 amounted to 7.2%.  Meanwhile, the Armenian  government refused to raise the minimum wage and index pensions,  referring to the lack of appropriate resources at this stage.

Thus, according to the decision of the Public Services Regulatory  Commission (PSRC) of Armenia dated December 29, from February 1,  2022, the electricity tariff will be increased by an average of 4.7  drams. An exception will be made for socially unprotected segments of  the population. According to the PSRC, they make up 11% of all  households. The daily tariff for them, as before, will be 29.99  drams, the night one - 19.99 drams.  For all other subscribers, the  following tariffs will be set:

- for subscribers who monthly consume up to 200 kWh of electricity  (55% of consumer residents) the tariff will increase by 1.5 drams per  kWh - up to 46.48 drams during the day, 36.48 drams - at night  (including VAT) ;

- for subscribers who monthly consume up to 201-400 kW/h (25% of  residents-consumers) of electricity, the tariff will increase by 3.5  drams per kW/h - up to 48.48 drams during the day and 38.48 drams -  at night (taking into account VAT);

- all other subscribers will pay 5.5 drams more per kWh - 53.48 drams  each (including VAT). At the same time, the nightly tariff for  electricity for them will increase to 43.48 drams, against the  current 37.98 drams.

Higher voltage subscribers (companies) will pay lower tariffs, but  they are also provided with an increase of 5.5 drams (for 10 kW  subscribers - from 36.48 to 41.98 drams, 35 kW - from 38.98 to 44, 48  drams, for 6 (10) kW subscribers - from 44.98 to 50.48 drams). Night  tariffs for the first two groups will remain lower by 4 drams, for 6  (10) kW - by 10 drams.
