Share of low wages to be reduced - Armenia`s premier

ArmInfo.A total of 659,471 jobs were officially registered in Armenia in 2021, an absolute record in the Third Republic's history, Armenia's Premier Nikol Pashinyan  stated at a Cabinet meeting on Thursday.   

Last year, 37,629 more jobs were registered as compared with 2020,  30,758 more jobs as compared with 2019 and 70,977 more jobs as  compared with 2018. 

"I would like to stress that there can be no manipulations with the  figures because the jobs are officially registered, with wages paid,"  the premier said. And all the employees can be identified, he added.   Moreover, the share of low wages (below AMD 150,000 a month) has been  reduced in the last three years - 60.4% down to 51.4%. 

"Last December, the average monthly wages were AMD 277,661, AMD  30,000 or 12% more than in December 2020, AMD 43,000 or 8% more than  in 2019 and AMD 54,000 or 24% more than in 2018. Last year, the  employed population's officially paid wages totaled AMD 139,600mln -  AMD 19.7bln or 13% more than in 2020, AMD 38.7bln or 38% more than in  2018," Mr Pashinyan said.
