ArmInfo. Electricity generation in Armenia in January- December 2021 amounted to 7,674.9 million kWh, decreasing by 0.6% over the year (against an increase of  1.2% a year earlier). However, in December alone,  electricity  generation increased by 20.6% - up to 826.5 million kWh.  According  to the RA Statistical Committee, in January-December 2021, TPPs  increased electricity generation by 6.9% - up to 3,383.7 million kWh,  and HPPs - by 23.8%, up to 2,201.7 million kWh.

Armenian NPP, on the contrary, reduced production volumes for the  reporting year - by 27.5% - to 1,998.4 million kWh. The volumes of  thermal energy production also decreased - by 69.9% to 11.3 thousand  gigajoules.

According to the source, wind farms reduced electricity generation by  21.1% to 1.5 million kWh, while solar stations, on the contrary,  increased production to 89.6 million kWh (4.2.-fold).

In 2020, 7,723.4 million kWh were produced, with y-o-y growth of 1.2%  (against a decline of 1.9% a year earlier). At the same time, TPPs  increased electricity generation by 3.9%, Armenian NPP - by 25.4%, at  the same time, the volumes of thermal energy production increased by  36.9%. While HPPs, on the contrary, reduced production - by 25%. Wind  farms reduced electricity generation by 42.4%, while solar plants, on  the contrary, increased production by 59%.  The reduction in  electricity generation at the Armenian NPP was due to work on the  modernization of the plant and the extension of its operation.
