Negative migration balance of Armenia increased by 67.5% in 2021

ArmInfo. In 2021, 57,472 cases of population migration were registered in Armenia, which is 18% higher than a year ago. This is evidenced by the data of the RA  Statistical Committee.

According to statistics, of this number, 18,853 people moved to the  country from abroad (with a y-o-y increase of 19%), and 22,651 people  emigrated abroad (with a y-o-y increase of 25%).

As a result, for the reporting year 2021, the negative balance of  Armenia's migration amounted to 3,798 people, with  y-o-y growth of  67.5%.

The main countries where the citizens of Armenia preferred to move  are Russia, the Republic of Artsakh, Georgia, the USA and Germany.  During the reporting period, 870,308 tourists visited Armenia for  tourism purposes, which is 2.4-fold higher than a year ago.
