ArmInfo. In Armenia, the unemployment rate for Q3 2021 remained unchanged - 15%, but decreased by 3.2 percentage points in comparison with the indicator of a year  ago (from 18.2%). This is evidenced by the data of the RA Statistical  Committee.

At the same time, according to statistical data, there is a decrease  in the level of employment in the country from 51% in Q2 2021 to  50.9% in Q3 2021 (vs. 49.3% in Q3 2020). In absolute terms, as of  October 1, 2021, the number of employed people amounted to 1.005  million people (with a y-o-y decline of 1.8%). As of the reporting  date, there were 177.3 thousand unemployed people, which is 21.9%  lower than a year ago.

According to statistics, the demand for labor at the end of December  2021 amounted to 2207 people, with a y-o-y increase of 83.5%. At the  same time, the load on 1 vacant place decreased - up to 39 people,  which is 46.6% lower than the indicator of a year ago.

At the end of December, 837 citizens managed to find a job in Armenia  (y-o-y growth of 3.5%) or 1% of the total number of job seekers. Of  the employed people, 285 are men (with a y-o-y growth of 1.3-fold),  and 552 - women (y-o-y decline of 6.6%).

It should be noted that, despite the revision of the projected GDP  growth in 2021 towards more moderate rates (4.2% against the  previously expected 5.4%), the Central Bank left its expectations for  the unemployment rate unchanged - 15.7%.

The regulator explained this by a reduction in the supply of labor as  a result of their migration observed since the beginning of the year.   In the medium term, according to the forecast of the Central Bank,  the unemployment rate will remain in the range of 15-16%.
