Kerobyan: The volume of Armenias GDP in 2021 amounted to $13.9 billion

ArmInfo. The volume of Armenia's GDP in 2021 amounted to $13.9 billion (6.983 trillion drams). Minister of Economy of Armenia Vahan Kerobyan, referring to the preliminary data of the Statistical Committee, announced this on his Facebook page.

In particular, he drew attention to the fact that on a y-o-y terms, real GDP growth amounted to 5.7%, and nominal growth was about 13%.  At the same time, in comparison with 2019, the volume of real GDP decreased by 2.1%, while nominal GDP showed an increase of 6.7%.

According to Kerobyan, according to preliminary data, GDP per capita in 2021 amounted to $4680 (2.357 million drams), while in 2020 and 2019 they were registered at $4269 and $4597 respectively.  The volume of gross capital formation increased over the year by 9.1% to 1.371 trillion drams. It should be reminded that according to the World Bank's forecast for January 2021-2022, Armenia's GDP growth is expected to slow down from 6.1% to 4.8%. In its November forecast, the IMF also forecast a slowdown in Armenia's GDP growth from 5.5 percent in 2021 to 5.3 percent in 2022. And according to the December forecast of the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia, Armenia's GDP growth will accelerate from 4.2% in 2021 to 5.3% in 2022. The state budget of the Republic of Armenia for 2021 included a 3.2% GDP growth, and for 2022 - a 7% GDP growth. And according to statistics that is after the actual decline in GDP in 2020 by 7.4%, and the pre-Covid GDP growth in 2019 by 7.6%.
