Disconnecting Russia from SWIFT would be a radical step, German  Economics East Committee states

ArmInfo.Disconnecting Russia from SWIFT due to sanctions would be a radical step, Michael Harms, executive director of the German Economics East Committee, told  Hessischer Rundfunk Info.

"This is, of course, a radical step.

We very much hope that within the framework of political development  it will not come to this," RIA Novosti quotes Kharms.

Earlier it was reported that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, after  Moscow recognized the independence of the LPR and the DPR, asks other  countries to impose tough sanctions against Russia and disconnect it  from the SWIFT international interbank system.

At the end of January, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of  Russia Dmitry Medvedev commented on the possibility of disconnecting  the Russian side from SWIFT.
