ArmInfo. Armenia's Premier Nikol Pashinyan, at a Cabinet meeting on Thursday, explains the reasons for raising gas tariffs.
The first reason is recalculated caloricity.
"Last year the caloricity of gas supplied to Armenia was raised. So gas of higher calorific capacity was supplied to the population without additional payments," the premier said.
The gas price in Europe has reached $2,400 per 1,000 cubic meters.
"We have taken measures to keep the price at $165 per 1,000," the premier said. From April 1, 2022, the gas tariff will be raised by AMD 4.7 per 1 cubic meter. Gazprom Armenia proposed raising the weighted average price by $15.89 up to $282.6 per 1,000 cubic meters of gas with a caloricity of 8,500 kilocalories against the current price ($266.71).
