ArmInfo. In general, the share of imports of goods in the EAEU market averages more than 20%, but for individual countries and cities this figure is much higher. EEC Minister in charge of Integration and Macroeconomics Sergei Glazyev announced this on March 22 during the video bridge Moscow-Minsk-Yerevan-Nursultan-Bishkek.
In particular, he said that there is a sharp difference between industries in terms of dependence on imported products. When it comes to food security, the Member of the EEC Board indicated that the EAEU encourages import substitution in the production of pesticides, according to him, there is, in practice, no dependence on mineral fertilizers. The only critical issue is to reduce dependence on seed imports. "For this we need our own scientific school of seed production," Glazyev said, noting that such coordinated work is being carried out by the agro-industrial complex.
At the same time, he pointed out the difficulties that, due to Western sanctions, may affect the production of household and computer equipment. In this context, the minister spoke about the work on the development program for the domestic electronics industry, including the production of microelements, proprietary software, etc.
"The program is very large. So far, there is no understanding of how to finance it, since it is estimated at hundreds of billions of rubles. But there is a desire of the business community, engineers to solve these problems. And we will have to do this taking into account the actual embargo on the supply of the most advanced products of micro-, nano-electronics, etc. And today it is necessary to create all possible conditions for the production of our own electrical elements. There is enough potential to start implementing such a large-scale program", he explained.
