The Armenian authorities do not encourage the relocation of foreign businesses to the Republic of Armenia in connection with the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, however, they are ready to support on the basis of humanistic motives. Minister of Economy of Armenia Vahan Kerobyan stated on March 24 in an interview with journalists.
According to the minister, the department he heads has no data on new companies registered in the country. "However, yesterday there was a publication that 268 companies and about a thousand non-resident individual entrepreneurs, mainly from Russia, as well as from Ukraine and Belarus, were registered in Armenia over the past month. Our position is as follows: we do not encourage the relocation of companies, but we try to make sure that companies and individuals who have already made a decision and are in Armenia, if possible, feel here in their native environment," the minister said. This is done out of purely humanistic motives, the head of the Armenian Ministry of Economy added.
