ArmInfo.I believe that active work will be carried out in the EAEU to create general settlement tools similar to the SDR (Special Drawing Right of the IMF). This opinion was voiced by Alexander Ageev, Doctor of Economics, Head of the Eurasian Information and Analytical Consortium, Director of the Institute of Economic Strategies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, during the "The role and place of Russia and the EAEU in modern conditions" video bridge.
At the same time, he noted that the demand for these tools would increase depending on the structure and volume of trade between the countries in the integration area. At this stage, the focus on trade, investment flows, innovation flows within the Union is insufficient. According to the economist, there is a great dependence on such flows with third parties.
"But this is also a question of the fate of the Union, its stationary development, in the same composition, in a more expanded, but in different formats, not necessarily through joining the EAEU. This may be a system of bilateral agreements with various preferential regimes, etc. "So, there will be an interesting process here in the future," Ageev said. At the same time, he added that this is not a matter of preference, but of economic necessity. "If it goes off scale, it will be introduced quickly enough," Ageev emphasized.
