ArmInfo. In 2021, Armenia exported 3,776.3 kg gold (including electroplating), which is 33.4% lower than a year ago. At the same time, the customs value decreased by 47.7% to $133.8 million. This is evidenced by the data of the RA Customs Service.
According to the source, during the reporting year, the lion's share of gold was exported by Armenia to India (95.9%), and the rest to the UAE (3%), Italy (1%) and Hong Kong (0.1%). At the same time, in 2021, 1560.3 kg of gold were imported, with a y-o-y 3.4-fold sharp increase, with a 3.7-fold increase in customs value - up to $90 million. Among the countries supplying gold to Armenia, Russia dominates (78.5%), followed by the UAE (19.6%), as well as the USA, Switzerland, Turkey, Hong Kong, France.
In 2020, Armenia exported 5,670 kg gold, with a y-o-y decline of 2.7%. The customs value of exported gold increased by 14.3% per annum - up to $255.8 million. The volume of imported gold amounted to 446.9 kg gold, with a y-o-y decline of 82.2%, and the customs value amounted to $22.2 million, having decreased by 78.9% over the year.
