
ArmInfo. In 2021, Armenia reduced the volume of exports of copper ore by 15.7% - to 429.5 thousand tons (against a decline in 2020 by 9.3%). However, in value terms, the export of copper ore increased by 27.3%, amounting to $769.2 million. This is evidenced by the data of the RA Customs Service.
According to Customs Service data, copper ore was exported to China (39%), Switzerland (33.8%), Bulgaria (27.2%), as well as to the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Romania, Georgia, Canada, Austria. A decline was also recorded in the export of zinc concentrate by 11% - to 11.9 thousand tons, against an increase of 10.9% in 2020. And the customs value increased by 25.3% - up to $16.1 million. Moreover, the entire volume, like a year earlier, fell on Belgium.
Exports of molybdenum concentrate decreased by 37.4% in the reporting year (against a multiple growth in 2020), amounting to 10.2 thousand tons, with an increase in customs value by 17.9% to $122.3 million. Exports were mainly directed to China (81.8%), Switzerland (8.1%), Republic of Korea (4.9%), Belgium (4.5%), Russia (0.6%), as well as the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Austria.
Export of ores containing precious metals in 2021 Armenia reduced by 1% - to 6.1 thousand tons, against an increase of 85.1% in 2020. At the same time, in value terms, an increase of 24.9% was recorded - up to $15.4 million.
As a year earlier, almost the entire volume of exported raw materials were directed to Switzerland (99.9%), and very meager volumes were supplied to the market of the Russian Federation, China, and the Islamic Republic of Iran. According to the RA Statistical Committee, in 2021, the production of copper concentrate decreased by 1.1%, amounting to 371.4 thousand tons, zinc concentrate - by 17.8%, amounting to 10.622 thousand tons, molybdenum concentrate - by 10.9% to 22.177 thousand tons
