Armenia`s grain imports down in 2021 

ArmInfo. Last year, Armenia's wheat imports totaled 271.3 thousand tons - a 23.4% decrease. The customs value reached $62.4mln - a 13.8% decrease. Russia is the  major exporter of wheat to Armenia (99.4%), with the rest imported  from Georgia. 

Armenia's wheat exports totaled 2.2 thousand tons as against 64.1  tons, with the customs value reaching $592.200. Georgia's share in  Armenia's wheat exports was 95.3%, Russia's share was 4.2% and the  USA's share 0.5%.   

Armenia's wheat flour imports totaled 20.9 thousand tons (a 4.5%  increase) - up to $6.1mln. Russia's share in Armenia's wheat flour  imports is 99%, with the rest imported from Italy, Kazakhstan,  France, Germany, Belarus, China and Belgium.  

Armenia's wheat flour exports totaled 11.3 tons - a 2.1-fold increase  as compared with the previous year.  Thee customs value reached $7.4  thousand - a 33.3% decrease. The USA's share in Armenia's wheat four  exports was 96.4%, with Russia's share being 3.6%. 

Grain imports totaled 4.1 thousand tons - a 14.9% decrease, with the  customs value being $3.4mln (a 2.6% decrease). Russia's share in  Armenia's grain imports was 97.7%, Georgia's share was 0.9%. The rest  was imported from Argentina, Germany, Finland, the USA, Belarus,  Italy, Romania, the United Kingdom, Greece and France.

Armenia's grain exports totaled 116.7 tons (an 8.4% increase) or, in  monetary terms, $86.1 thousand (a 10.5% increase).  Russia's share in  Armenia's grain exports was 47.8%, the USA's share was 45.2%,  Georgia's share, 5.8%, Belgium's share, 5.1%. China's share was  insignificant. 

In 2021, Armenia's corn imports totaled 66.5 thousand tons (a 7.3%  decrease), with a 5.9% increase in the customs value (up to $14,000).  Russia's share in Armenia's corn imports was 86.1%, with Georgia's  share being 13.8%. The rest was imported from Kazakhstan, France,  Ukraine, Italy, Hungary, the United Arab Emirates, Spain, Thailand. 

In 2021, Armenia's corn exports to Russia totaled 319.2kg - a 67.5%  decrease as against the previous year.  The customs value reached  $600 - a 20% increase. 

According to the RA Statistical Committee, the flour output totaled  155.2 thousand tons in Armenia - a 22.2%. 

According to the previously available data, the Alex Grig company  dominated Armenia's wheat and flour market (42%), with the Manana  Grain company's share being the second largest (36%). Thus, the two  companies' share in Armenia's domestic market is 80%.
